Biography
Youngsang Kim is an international Ph.D. student in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering from Korea University. His master’s research focused on discrete element method (DEM) analyses of soil plug formation inside open-ended piles and the associated internal stress states. In addition, he developed statistical and AI-based models to predict the deposition behavior of air-pluviated sand samples.
