Dr Puppala’s research group at TAMU recently received a new three-year collaborative NSF grant from National Science Foundation PFI program. The research work focuses on developing innovative, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly soil improvement solution for coastal regions. Infrastructure damage is a major problem in the coastal region and novel ground improvement is often needed to enhance resiliency of infrastructure.
This technology we are trying to study offers a greener alternative with a significant market potential and applications to civil infrastructure, water systems, and other ground improvement projects. An integrated entrepreneurial educational and leadership development plan will be used to train graduate students to become future entrepreneurship leaders in advanced, next-generation soil improvement technologies. We are collaborating with three other partners including Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Mingjiang Tao, lead), UMass Amherst (Guoping Zhang) and Keller (Kimberly Martin). We look forward to starting the work in this Fall semester.
