🎉 New Publication Alert: Role of Calcined-Clay-Based Geopolymers for Effective Stabilization of Expansive Soils 🎉

Posted on February 5, 2025 by Avinash Gonnabathula

🎉 We are excited to announce that our latest research paper, “Role of Calcined-Clay-Based Geopolymers for Effective Stabilization of Expansive Soils,” has been published in Canadian Geotechnical Journal, authored by Sopharith Chou, Dr. ,  Anand J Puppala, Nripojyoti Biswas, Oscar Huang, and Miladin Radovic. 🎉

This study investigates the effects of mineralogy in calcined clays used in alkaline-activated calcined clay-based geopolymers (CCBGPs) for stabilizing expansive soils and enhancing treated soil properties. Through engineering assessments, microstructural and mineralogical analyses, and machine learning models, the research highlights the key role of kaolinite-rich CCBGPs in improving soil performance. The findings demonstrate significant improvements in strength and durability, reinforcing the potential of locally available CCBGPs as a sustainable alternative for soil stabilization.
