Posted on October 9, 2025 by Avinash Gonnabathula

We are excited to share our new publication, “Ground Improvement Studies on Problematic Soils: Innovative Materials with Sustainable Applications,” selected as an Editor’s Choice Article in Volume 55 of the Indian Geotechnical Journal!  Authored by Dr. Nripojyoti Biswas, Dr. Anand J. Puppala, Dr. Sayantan Chakraborty, and Dr. Jungyeon Jang, this study investigates sustainable techniques for stabilizing sulfate-rich soils—crucial for resilient and durable infrastructure. By utilizing metakaolin geopolymers and silica-based admixtures, the research demonstrates improved soil performance and durability beyond traditional treatment approaches. These results provide valuable guidance for engineers seeking innovative and sustainable ground improvement solutions.
