Biography
Akhil Anil is a Graduate student at Texas A&M University, College Station. He was born in Cochin, a major port city on the Malabar coast of India. He completed his schooling at Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery, Kochi. He did his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Vellore Institute Technology (VIT), India and did his research internship at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras. He has worked as a design intern in Associated Structural Consultants and in GeoStructurals Pvt. Ltd. in Kochi. He has hands-on field experience in studying the vibration measurement produced due to a controlled implosion demolition that happened in Kerala, India in January 2020. After his undergrad, he joined as Lab Assistant in Engineers Diagnostic Center and later joined Cochin Engineering Consultancy Services (CECONS) as a full-time Civil Engineer where he developed his background in the field of ground improvement, geotechnical investigation and piling works.
Through AIESEC International, he has been part of the student volunteer Program in Turkey and Vietnam. Later, he moved to the United States to pursue his Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Akhil’s research interest includes Ground Improvement Technologies like Deep Soil Mixing, Application of Geosynthetics in Infrastructure Development, Induced Vibration Measurement, Pile foundation technologies and Numerical modeling.
