Cyclic Simple Shear

Description

The cyclic simple shear testing system uses the ShearTrac III system from GeoComp. This setup is capable of performing fully automated simple shear and cyclic simple shear test of 12 in. dia by 8 in. height soil or rock sample. It can also be modified to perform a conventional direct shear test for 12” x 12” by 8” soils and rock specimen. Additionally, it is also capable of performing variations of interface shear tests on different geosynthetics (geomembrane, geotextile, GCL, geogrid, etc.) and determining the interface frictional properties of soil and geosynthetics, and internal friction of GCLs.
